Epic continues to iterate upon Fortnite’s progression, and has decided to unify everything around its existing Battle Pass XP system. Throughout this year, it’s released various Festival Passes and LEGO Passes with their own unique objectives and currencies. Beginning with Fortnite Festival Season 6, it will connect all progression to the existing Battle Pass.
While it sounds complicated on paper, this is a simplification. It means all your quests and all your XP will contribute to everything, whether it’s the renamed Music Pass, LEGO Pass, or existing Battle Pass. So it doesn’t matter what you’re playing or how you’re playing, you’ll be making progress towards all three.
“As you progress through pass tiers with XP, you’ll be able to claim rewards on the unlocked pages of each active pass you have,” the developer explains. “Rewards may be claimed in non-sequential order on all passes, in the same way that you can with the Battle Pass now. You’ll also be able to set each pass to auto-claim the next reward when it becomes available to you.”
It’s worth remembering you will need to purchase a pass to get all of the rewards, although there’ll still be free items to claim as well. Epic says there’ll be an “easy way” to purchase all three passes at once, and it’ll have more information on that in the future.
We suppose this also simplifies things for any games or experiences it may add to Fortnite in the future. It looks like the company is waving the white flag on Rocket Racing, but we’re fairly confident it’ll be cooking new modes and concepts in the future, as it transforms Fortnite into a full-fledged platform.

So does getting rid of Stars mean thing are going to cost say 400,000 XP or will each item cost 80,000? I’ve been playing for 3 years and I kind of like the stars. I only play battle royale so music festival and Lego don’t matter to me.
Since they keep saying December 1st for the change does that mean we are getting 4 weeks of OG again as season 5 before season 6 begins for real December 1st? OG just isn’t for me, it’s so boring.
Rather platt someone’s turds sorry
@rjejr I think you'll still get stars, it's just the XP will earn stars for all the passes now.
@get2sammyb Oh thanks, I like that better. Now I just need to recover from this morning’s hand surgery so I can game again. May try tomorrow, wife permitting.
I was halfway through this season's pass when I dropped it for awhile so I came back on it to try and get it done before it goes. After playing ten no build matches and several festival playlists, I've gotten nearly 50 level ups. The quests hand out XP like confetti.
@rjejr Get better soon!
@AdamNovice Its definitely really nice especially when you want to play other games
@get2sammyb Thanks. And as I watch the Giants get spanked on national tv I came across this tweet that does make it look like battle stars are going away. I know it’s just some random but a lot of the reply tweets do make sense. Guess we’ll see?
